What is a School Advisory Council?
Each school in the State of Florida must have a School Advisory Council (SAC), a team of people representing various segments of the community, parents, teachers, students, administrators, support staff, business/ industry people and other interested community members.
The purpose of a SAC is to assist in the preparation and evaluation of the results of the school improvement plan and to assist the principal with
the annual school budget. The important thing to remember is that SAC will be creating plans for improving the learning of students. This is an awesome responsibility that involves everyone.
What Does SAC Do?
It is the responsibility of the School Advisory Council to help increase student success. The SAC focuses on the needs of students, including what they need to know (curriculum content) and what they should be able to do (performance) to help develop the School Improvement Plan (SIP).
